    The tampa bay tech football Titans are coming off a strong season last year. Their defense is stout. Senior quarterback Xavione Washington completed 159 of 277 passes for 2,464 yards and twenty-four touchdowns to just nine picks. Though the Titans will miss their top receiver Greg Gaines, they will be able to make up for that loss with the addition of sophomore sensation Santonyo Isaac. Isaac caught 18 passes for 501 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman.

    The Titans are also returning two of their leading tacklers, Donteye Drew and Ed Gwinn. Other key players returning are Landon Hernandez and Johnnie Tyson. This group of players should be able to dominate the state in the postseason. Tampa Bay Tech will play the defending champion St. Thomas Aquinas in the Class 7A state championship game.

    Tampa bay tech football  had a lot of possession late in the game. The team started the game driving to the Lake Gibson eight-yard line but settled for a field goal. Then the Tech offense answered with a 34-yard touchdown pass from Xavione Washington to Javione McKay on the first play of the second half.

    The Titans share a district with Armwood, Wharton and Freedom. Their district opener is against the Wharton Wildcats, which are a state title contender. Their other games include the Newsome Wildcats on Sep. 9 and Lehigh on Oct. 21. They also face Lehigh on Sept. 21 and Jesuit on Oct. 22.

    Tampa bay tech football  is a public comprehensive magnet high school. It was founded in 1969. It is known by its mascot, the Titan. The school offers three programs – agriculture, healthcare, and technology. Its campus is similar to a community college campus. Its transportation system includes buses that transport students between classes.

    The Titans’ passing attack was on fire during the first half against Lake Gibson. Washington completed four passes for at least 24 yards before halftime. One of those passes to Gaines set up Sim’s touchdown run. The Titans went up 21-3 before halftime, but Lake Gibson came back with some momentum.
