The fire tower challenge promotes the remaining public fire towers in Catskill Park. Since its launch in early 2019, the challenge has drawn 8,78 finishers and more than 4,400 selfies at the region’s five remaining fire towers. In addition to New Yorkers, visitors from twelve other states and Canada have participated in the challenge. The initiative is part of the State’s “See the Catskills Like Never Before” tourism campaign.
